WELCOME TO THE MALHOTRA GROUP

Ramesh Malhotra, the founder of The Malhotra Group, was born in Lahore, India, and spent his childhood in the Himalayas after his family moved there following the partition of India in 1947. He obtained a master's degree in geology from Punjab University and pursued postgraduate studies in mining and prospecting in Austria, as well as in earth and space science at Stony Brook University, and an MBA from Michigan Tech in the United States. Malhotra became the president of NERCO, an American mining company that grew to $920 million in sales before its acquisition by another firm.

After leaving NERCO in 1987, Malhotra established Coal Network Inc. in Mason, Ohio, a coal brokerage firm. Through his entrepreneurial spirit, Malhotra expanded the business by building regional sales offices and a terminal in Catlettsburg, Kentucky. He made Coal Network into a successful business that garnered a great deal of attention in the coal industry. Malhotra's success with Coal Network allowed him to pursue his passion for the arts and nonprofit organizations in the Greater Cincinnati area.

Malhotra's life took a turn when he was diagnosed with a severe illness that forced him to take a break from his work with Coal Network. His recovery inspired a renewed dedication to helping local artists and nonprofit organizations. In March of 2023, he  initiated a project to sell off a significant portion of his art collection to support local artists and nonprofit organizations in the art community. A percentage of the proceeds was donated to "Movers & Makers" magazine, a nonprofit organization promoting visual art coverage. The Malhotra Group plans to partner with other nonprofit organizations in art-related events and donate a portion of the proceeds to them in return, further supporting emerging artists and promoting the arts. Mr. Malhotra's passion for the arts and commitment to supporting local artists emphasizing the power of collaboration and community support in making a difference in the world.
